Venetia Cardigan - English

Venetia Cardigan is worked top down with raglan increases - but with a twist to create a puffy sleeve effect. Around the waist a casing for a ribbon is worked in seed st. After the casing the number of sts is increases to achieve a feminine, dressy shape. A simple eyelet pattern is worked along the front edges and along the bottom.

Sizes: 1 year (2 years) 3-4 years (5-6 years) 7-8 years (9-10 years)

Chest width: 26 (28) 30 (33) 36 (38) cm 

Length: 31 (35) 39 (43) 48 (52) cm

Gauge: 28 sts x approx. 36 rows on 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4 inches in stockinette st worked back and forth

Skill level: Intermediate

Techniques used: Charted eyelet pattern, top down raglan, picking up sts, knitting tog sts

Materials:

• 150 (150) 150 (200) 200 (250) gr of yarn  for size 3 mm (US size 3) needles (the cardigans in the picture are knit in Camarose Yaku (50 gr = 200 m/220 yards) in the color Havgrøn (#1655) and Quince and Co Finch (50 gr = 200 m/220 yards) in the color Petal)

• Two size 3 mm (US size 3) double pointed needles, 60 cm (24 inches) (or size needed to obtain gauge) 

• Size 3 mm double pointed needles or circular needles for magic loop

• 3 (3) 3 (4) 4 (4) buttons

• Ribbon
